An ideal manicure is not only smooth and well-groomed nails, but also neat cuticles. Caring for this area requires no less attention than treating the nail plate itself. Special removers can make the work of a manicurist and pedicurist easier.
What is a remover and when is it needed?
Cuticle is a skin film that frames the base of the nail bed. Some of the cells in this area gradually die, become hard and spoil the appearance of the manicure. To remove them, various tools are used in a nail salon. The remover allows you to prepare the cuticle for treatment, soften the tissue and make the procedure faster and more comfortable.
Remover contains substances that act on dead skin cells. They become soft and are easier to remove with a wooden stick or other tool. The product works selectively, without splitting living cuticle tissue and without affecting the surface of the nail plate.
Removers initially contained aggressive components that were intended to remove tattoo pigments, remove gel polish, extended nails and eyelashes. Noticing that the properties of the product can also be used for cuticles, manicurists took note of this. Later, softer formulations appeared, designed specifically for the periungual space and delicately acting on the skin.
Using a remover allows you to achieve an ideal cuticle look. After treatment, it becomes soft, moisturized, there are no burrs or irregularities. At the same time, the manicure procedure itself becomes more gentle - the master needs much less time to treat the skin around the nail. The remover is also recommended to be used between salon visits to maintain good cuticle condition.
Types of removers
Removers differ in their chemical composition and the degree of exposure of the active substance to the skin. Main types:
Acid removers. Effective acid-based products. Acid removers are rarely found in manicure products. They are more often used in podological practice. Removers of this type differ in PH level. The higher the acidity, the stronger the effect. In some cases, neutralizers are required to prevent the client from getting burned.
Alkaline removers. The most common type, as it has the lowest cost. For home manicure, you need to choose the most non-aggressive means that do not require neutralization. Salons may use more concentrated formulations, when working with which it is important to follow a strict protocol.
Removers with a urea base. The most gentle option that does not require neutralization. It differs in % content of the main active ingredient – Carbamide. The higher the percentage, the stronger the keratolytic properties.
Enzyme-based remover. The safest type of remover. It does not require neutralization and continues to work carefully and effectively when in contact with moisture for several days. This remover is often recommended to be added to home care for severe engorgement of the nail folds and the formation of periungual and subungual calluses.
Combined removers. Products that combine several of the above components. They are combined to obtain maximum effect.
Removers can be produced in different formats:
Gel. They are characterized by maximum ease of use, light texture and ease of application.
Liquid. Available in a bottle with a brush, spout or pipette. They are easily distributed, but can spread and get onto surrounding tissues.
Cream. They have a thick, rich consistency and allow you to apply them precisely to certain areas of the skin.
A very successful product format is the remover from ROSILAK. The drug is available in the form of a gel and is additionally equipped with a brush - it is very convenient to apply. The product acts instantly, effectively, it does not spread and is very economical to use. The ROSILAK remover is suitable for professional use and home use.

The product is selected individually. A remover option that is popular with your friends may not suit you, and vice versa. When choosing a product, focus not only on efficiency, but also on comfort during use. If you feel a burning sensation during application, inform the specialist and immediately rinse the product with water. This brand of remover is not suitable for you. Most likely, it is worth looking for more delicate formulas.

Methods for treating the nail plate on the hands and feet differ in the technique used and the tools used. Basic methods:
Classic edged.
European.
Hardware.
Preparative.
Classic manicure involves trimming the cuticle using tweezers and nail scissors. It can be dry and wet - using a hand bath. The method allows you to get rid of thick layers of formations, hangnails and skin growths. There is a drawback - there is an increased risk of damaging living tissue, especially when using baths. In water, the skin swells and the risk of injury increases.
With a European (unedged) manicure, the cuticle is gently pushed back and removed using an orange stick or a special spatula. This is less traumatic, but there is a minus. Such a manicure may not give an ideal result if there is a lot of rough skin.
Hardware manicure and pedicure are carried out using a milling machine. The master changes attachments, quickly and accurately treating the cuticle, skin folds and nail plate. The risk of injury with this method is minimal, since each milling attachment acts purposefully and gently.
Preparative manicure is a modern and safest type of manicure. The cuticle is treated under the action of a remover. The exfoliant gently exfoliates dead cells, and they are easily removed from the nail with an orange stick or pusher.
Enzyme serum works great in the preparation technique. Its active ingredients are pineapple and papaya enzymes. In addition, it contains useful softening and moisturizing components that prevent the formation of hangnails and maintain the beautiful appearance of the cuticle for a long time.

The remover can complement any nail plate treatment technique. The main thing is to strictly follow the instructions for use. The product should be kept for exactly as long as recommended by the manufacturer - no more, no less.
Benefits of using a remover
The removers quickly fell in love with professional craftsmen and the clients themselves, who appreciated the advantages of this product:
Less traumatic. The remover helps to soften only keratinized, “dead” tissues, and leaves living ones undamaged. Trim manicure without remover depends entirely on the experience of the master. Any inaccurate movement can cause wounds, which is a lot of discomfort and an additional risk of infection.
Comfort. The cuticle removal procedure after treatment with remover is more comfortable for the client. The tissues become more pliable, so the technician requires less effort and manipulation to remove them.
Less duration of procedures. Applying and maintaining the remover takes, on average, from 20 seconds to several minutes. Much more time is saved on subsequent treatment of the cuticle after the product has taken effect.
Long lasting effect. The cuticle grows slower after treatment with remover. It becomes more hydrated and less prone to burrs. Manicure and pedicure will preserve your beauty for much longer.
How to use the remover: step-by-step instructions
The algorithm for treating the nail plate and cuticle differs with different techniques.
Sequence of work for classic and European manicure:
Removing varnish.
Processing the edge of the nail, giving shape using nail files.
Apply remover to rough areas of the periungual space.
Pushing back a thin layer of cuticle (ptegyria). When trimming a manicure, the excess skin is then carefully cut off with nail scissors or tweezers.
Removing remover residues using a cotton pad moistened with a neutralizer.
Polishing the nail and applying a decorative coating.
Lubricating the cuticle with nourishing oil or cream.
Mixed techniques are often used: classic and hardware manicure. When combined with nail treatment, remover is also included in the general scheme of actions:
Removing varnish.
Processing the edge of the nail, giving shape using a cutter.
Lifting the cuticle using a special attachment.
Apply remover and wait time according to the instructions on the package.
Removing softened cuticle using scissors or tweezers.
Washing off the remnants of remover.
Final polishing and varnish application.
Applying oil or cream to the cuticle.
Safety precautions when using remover
High-quality removers are safe products that gently and precisely act on dead skin areas. Their effect on surrounding healthy tissue is minimal. However, when applying the product, you should not apply it to the entire nail and the area around it. Use the product in a targeted manner to reduce the minimal risk of an unwanted reaction to almost zero.
Carefully read the manufacturer's instructions regarding the exposure time of the composition. You should not change this deadline yourself. A shorter time may not give the desired effect, and if you overexpose the product, the remover can cause allergies, skin irritation, or even a burn.
Be sure to wash off removers. Most products can be removed with plain water, but for some there are special neutralizers that will need to be applied after the remover.
At the final stage of the manicure process, it is worth applying emollients: cream or cuticle oil. They will moisturize the skin after exposure to the remover and prolong the effect of a perfect manicure.
